A UV sunstrip is sewn down the outside of a roller furling headsail to protect the sail from damage by the sun and elements.
When replacing a sunstrip we recommend that the new cover is very slightly wider than the original to avoid sewing over old stitch holes.
To work out the amount of cloth needed you will need the length of the leech. This is divided by the cloth width (157cm) to give the number of sections required. Multiply this by the width of the strip required. Repeat for the foot length. This is often thinner.
